its ok May 20, 2009 its big and heavy buy does not cool my cpu better that my stock one. with this one i get 44c idle and with the stock one i get 32c idle. this is only for my pc maybe it works better on yours.
quite like promissed Aug 26, 2008 This is the right step to easily improve your PC's noise level. However, you must take out the motherboard. That's not complicated but it's a little combersum. The manual is understandable and it's well worth the effort and the money.
Quiet Dec 06, 2007 It's very quiet and cool CPU cooling system, but it's a little hard to install in Socket 478 motherboard.
CPU cooling fan Nov 25, 2007 I have Dell Dimension 8400 which made a noise like a locomotive after 8 months. I called the Dell support, which was useless. The support diagnosis was incorrect, and Dell recommended changing computer case fan. Anyway after several attempts with Dell technician to come by my house, and resolve this problem (This area dell technician was a joke). I gave up on Dell's support. I decided to troubleshoot the cause for this noise after ordeal with Dell support, I found out the real culprit of this noise, it was the cpu fan with problematic CPU heat sink. In fact when I googled the noisy Dell 8400, I found many other Dimension 8400 owners with the same noisy problem. I ordered this Zalman CPU fan with heat sink. It took a bit of modification for the bracket for the cooling fan to fit into my motherboard, but after couple of hours later I managed to installed this cooling fan. It has been about 2.5 years ago, and my Dimension 8400 is still humming like a little baby. I am very happy with Zalman products, and I would recommend this cooling fan to anyone who is having trouble with noisy CPU fans.

I broke my computer with this product. Apr 14, 2007 This product does what it says on its description. But It's hard to install in my computer. My machine is Insignia D300a,which has Pentium 4(socket 478). Therefore I have to follow Socket 478 procedure. I have put 2 little bridge thing in above of my CPU and drived screws on it. I used long screws. I had to use short screws but I read the document. But short screws were looked to short to me. I though It would not reach thoes 2 bridges. Because I have used 2 long screws, Screws reached to surface of motherboard and cut few lines in circuit. I need a motherboard(Socket 478) now for my desktop. After then, I installed this cpu fan in my other computer in kichine. And it's queit and good. But it's too hard to install for me. Maybe it's easy for people who open compueter box often and if the box is large enough for this cooler
