Great Video Card For The Money Feb 19, 2009 This is a great video card for the money. I put it in a Dell 540 with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor. I'm running dual Acer 22" monitors. Sweeeeeet. Crisp. Clear. And the fan is super quiet. I'm NOT a gamer, so this card is way more than I need. But for the price, why not? Buy one. You'll love it.
Zalman Edition by XFX!!! Feb 04, 2009 Out of the box XFX's attention to detail during construction is obvious. Their products are built better and offer one of the rare lifetime transferrable warranties to back that up. The Zalman cooling is second to none, combining a custom heatsink and their own hefty oversized fan to keep this card cool and quiet while displaying blazing graphics without hesitation. Currently this Zalman 8600GT resides in an IBM 8138 P4-3GHz using original power supply with no problems whatsoever, but it does hog an extra slot due to size so make sure you have the room. Be certain to download the latest drivers available from nVIDIA and have available for a flawless install. This card also comes already factory OC'd to perfection, and allows games to be run at the highest settings without missing a beat! Colors and clarity on LCD are incredible with absolutely no lags. For the price, this is simply a great value especially if you're just upgrading an otherwise perfectly good computer hampered by onboard graphics. As usual Amazon beat everyone's price and had this rare item in stock for immediate shipment in record time.
Great Perfomance Jan 30, 2009 I bought this to upgrade from a EVGA 7300GT 512MB, and the difference is huge. I am very happy with the perfomance of the XFX 8600GT. The only thing that I don't like is that I can't configure the sound sent to my LCD screen, I use a DVI to HDMI cable converter and the video card sends HDMI signal through the DVI wich is a problem since the card does'nt support sound. I had to send the video to a device other than my TV to get the sound.

Tremendous Dec 05, 2008 I am planning on investing in a new gaming laptop around summer time, so I didn't want to spend too much on a video card upgrade for my current desktop. My Inspiron 531 only has the stock 300 V power source, and investing a new power source in order to get a very expesnive 8800 or higher would have not only been costly but time consuming and more difficult to install than just a video card. In addition, most of my gaming is done on the 360, with my PC reserved almost soley for WoW.
So, I purchased this card, the Geforce 8600 GT XXX edition by XFX, last week, and I can think of only one word to describe the result: TREMENDOUS! I can now run WoW on max settings (100%) with anywhere between 25 and 50 fps (average seems to be about 40, lowest only in places like cities with high-traffic and the most visually stunning instances). I run WoW on the "Good" Settings (70%) with 50-80 fps. Before this card, I had the 8300 GS, and was running at "fair" settings (40%) with fps from like 10-30. If you don't feel like changing your power source or you want a less-expensive alternative for moderate (in visual intensity) games like WoW, BUY THIS CARD!!!
As to the complaints of noise, even with my music off, all I hear is a faint "wooshing," and only if I am trying to listen for it and my ear is less than a foot away from the computer.
If I could give this card ten stars, I would.

Very good mid-range card Sep 02, 2008 I bought this product about four months ago and plugged it into a mid range, off the shelf hp computer. It only has a 300 watt power supply and the box says it requires a 350 watt supply but I haven't had a problem yet. I play COD4 on max average 30 fps. Crysis demo all high settings average 20 fps. Also runs Grid and Team Fortress 2 on Max settings well. It doesn't seem to add much noise to my system either. Overall I rate this as an excellent card for someone who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars or just wants to upgrade their home computer to be able to play the latest games at decent settings.
