    5Great Value, Great Performance  Jan 31, 2009
My Dell 8400 running Vista would not run Fallout 3. The Vista graphics score on the machine was 2.7. After installing this card it was 5.9! It is working fine with the original 350W power supply.

Fallout 3 (the most hardware intensive game I have) now runs great and it selected the high graphics setting. Even regular Windows tasks snap up on the screen as compared to before.

You can hear the fan but I did not find it loud enough to be annoying as some users reported. Installation was a snap. I am very happy with this card and believe it is a great value for the money.

    5very nice  Jan 24, 2009
i over clocked this baby to 770 core clock and 1100 memory and this thing flys for those who don't want to spend a million dollars buy this card and overclock it.
i can run crysis max resolution on high very well and on medium with no problem
with dual core 3 gh processor and 3gb ram on vista.
    once again great card.

4Very good performance, very bad temperature  Jan 07, 2009
The card is very good at performance, but it overheat like hell.
try to get a XFX or BFG instead.

    5I like it  Dec 09, 2008
I like this 9600GT. $100 thru amazon, the place I buy most of my stuff. If you have a low power power supply unit (PSU), below the 400w/24amp power supply for the vid card (recommended) the card comes with a splitter that will pull power from two rails ( two w/4 female connectors type plugs coming off the PSU) to provide adequate power, but I suggest you upgrade to a 500w PSU to maintain flexibility for past or future upgrades. Very simple to hook up and I am merely a journey man w/computers.

I have a duocore Intel (HP) with only 2.2 GHZ, 3 MB ram (ddr2) and a 7200 hard drive. My old windows scores were 3.0 overall: vid graphics of 3.0, system graphics of 3.9, now they are both 5.9! Overall sys rating is 4.7 due to memory speed (DDR3 would no doubt help, or a quadcore CPU, but you get what you pay for).

Get a GE Force 9600GT, unless you absolutely have to have the best, but I don't think throwing money at a vid card that is more expensive will provide a superior gaming experience for a couple of years!

    Dan.
