Usually ships in 1-2 business days | | | | | | Using the latest innovations in thermal management compounds, OCZ Freeze has higher heat conductivity potential than leading silver-based thermal pastes on the market today, offering an ultra-reliable solution for all computing environments. Based on a proprietary formulation of thermally conductive ingredients, OCZ Freeze can lower CPU core temperature as much as ten percent when compared to conventional silver-based compounds that are a popular choice amongst enthusiasts. OCZ Freeze compound helps maximize overclocking results by reducing the thermal barrier between the CPU and cooler, giving you a performance edge during the toughest computing situations. Combining low thermal resistance with high conductivity, OCZ Freeze is the premium choice for enthusiasts looking to get the maximum overclock from their CPU, and supports the stability needed to push your system to its limit. | | | |

Excellent cooling Nov 12, 2009 My laptop was shutting down due to heat. I was able to track my temperature using software, Real Temp 3.0, and found my laptop was shutting down after 87C. At the time my first solution was to buy a laptop cooler, which was a total waste of money. Not only did the small fans do anything for my problem, but the cheap construction left one fan useless after a couple of weeks. So before I spent any more money on the more expensive coolers I decided to clean and replace the thermal paste on my system. So I started to research and finally decided on this one. Incredibly my laptop is now running at a steady 75C (69C as I write this review) during regular, multitasking, work-related use. I did run a all-out test running video, games, photo software to mass process images, and the hottest temperature was 81C. All in all, I am happier because I can set the "High Performance" setting in Windows again.

Not Good! Aug 22, 2009 It does not do what it's suppose to do a U$1.00 yes one US Dollar packet of thermal paste from one of my local Computer Stores Work almost 17C DEG. Lower than this paste that ended up costing me almost U$10.00
OCZ Freeze Tops The Performance Spectrum! Aug 14, 2009 I used OCZ Freeze for the 1st time two weeks ago when I installed a new i7 920-series D0 Stepping CPU into my PC server, and I got an immediate 5-degree C or so benefit on Load versus Artic Silver 5, and Artic Silver Alumina. That is an impressive gain just for cleaning off the old and going with the new TIM, so Kudos to OCZ for making a quality product that does what they say it is going to do.
There's no silver or other metals in the Freeze, and that's apparently a good thing! It's a blueish green to grey color, sort of like a small mini-tube of toothpaste versus Artic Silver 5's heavy, gray to black gunky look and consistency. The Freeze also cleans up easily versus Artic Silver 5 and Alumina both, with just a quick wipe with a cloth and it's gone.
I can't say I have anything else of note to write about the Freeze other than the above, as that is pretty much it as far as performance goes. It's cheap also, at less than $7 per 3.5G syringe, so that's another great thing about it: it's a good deal waiting to happen. I look forward to using it in other applications as time goes on, but most importantly I am impressed at the temps I am getting with a hot running i7 CPU.
Good product Aug 05, 2009 I'm not a hardware expert so I've never used any other kind of Thermal compound at all but this one has worked quite well after I realized that you need to give it time to set. When I first put it on I would go ahead and use my computer and after a few days I would have issues with the fan going crazy due to improper seal with the heat sink. It's a common fault with the Dimension 8400 so I attributed it to whatever was wrong with that model... however, I recently went on vacation and when I came back all of the heat and fan issues completely disappeared.
I assume it was because you need a few days at least to let the bond really form with the thermal grease but as I said I'm not an expert at all in terms of hardware.
Dropped my temps as advertised Jul 24, 2009 I was having heat issues with my Athlon 64 X2 3800 and I solved it using this thermal compount. There was enough product for the processor and a Graphics card I have.
