    1Wolf in sheeps clothing  Dec 13, 2008
A presumably good system, but definitely isn't worth it. Based on reviews online I purchased this system, however just a couple of months later and my work is at a stand still die to a damaged video card. It started out as some occasional scrambled pixels (not to alarming) now all I see are tow vertical bars, one green the other magenta, and a thin green line horizontally though the screen. Both Nvidia and HP acknowledges that there is a flaw in the 8600 and similar video cards used in the series. According to Nvidia, the design used by most of the laptop manufacturers increases the failure rate of these cards. Dell and others has increased the warranty periods of laptops using these cards, HP has done similar, with the 9000 series notebooks, but excluded this and other affected systems. Luckily it happened so soon, that my system is still well under warranty, but it's due to be repaired by replacing with a similar, faulty designed board. What is stopping it from failing again when it's identical to the faulty board that went bad in the first place? What happens when it does and my system is no longer covered by warranty? There are reported cases of the problem reoccurring. I'm very disappointed as nothing has been done with an evident problem, these systems are still being sold with these issues and there is no redress for affected customers.

    5Great Buy  Jul 22, 2007
I brought this as I have always had HP laptops, normally I go for the Presario but this one is perfect. I play LOTR Online with high spec graphics and it has no issues.
Just the job, Slight issue with the web cam when switching between MSN & Yahoo msg though this is fixed by disabling and enabling in device manager.
