 Seems to work fine, have used about 1 month Sep 26, 2009
Seems to look good and work good. After a month no issues. I have it attached to my NAS that runs 24/7 and since no fan, there is only the hard drive spinning which is pretty quite.

 Possibly Killed my Drive - Avoid Sep 12, 2009
I'm not a hard drive expert but I'd at least think that some ventilation would be needed in order to keep the drive cool, but none is present on this case and within a month my hard drive failed on me in it. The external case would always be extremely hot and the sleep mode is incredibly poor because it will do it even when it's in the middle of doing stuff such as backup.
It's also loud, vibrates my desk a bit, and overall there are just too many better drive enclosures for $10, $20 more to bother with this product.

This device is currently sitting on my desk and is maintaining a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius. for the name it's not very cool, but for the price its an amazingly inexpensive item. Most Hard drives are made to operate from 40-55 degrees Celsius, meaning that this probably wont help or hurt your hard drive. Design wise it is very nice and feels great the bolts seem to screw on slightly at an angle, but it is not noticeable unless your aware of this fact. Now the connectors are flimsy at best but if you are careful while handling this won't cause a major problem. Great Item, Great Price, But look for another if you want something that actually COOLStotheMAX.

Pros: Works fine, and is plenty cheap
Cons: Some screwholes don't line up properly; although it is solid, the screw ends up being jammed at an angle.
Also, the use of a USB A female port on the drive is worrying - it requires a special (USB A male-male) cable, and brings the risk that one might accidentally connect the cable to two computer ports, possibly causing damage to the computer.

Great Product and will buy another one for another HDD Jul 05, 2009
I love this product due to the fact that it dose everything that I want it to do and the others who gave this product low numbers really needs to see the protential for something that is cheap can be really a hidden diamond that this product can do. The installation was easy and I was ready to go in seconds.
I recommend this product if you want to go cheap with the prices of backup products and make your own external enclosure....this product is the ticket.
