With the goal of enhancing the computing environment, all Zalman Tech products are ultra-quiet. This product is an ultra quiet 460W ATX Ver. 2.03 / ATX12V Ver. 2.01 power supply supporting SLI-capable Intel LGA775 Pentium 4/D & AMD Athlon 64/64 FX/X2 CPU equipped systems.By implementing heat-sensor circuitry that controls the cooling fan's speed (rpm) in relation to the temperature within the power supply, noise has been greatly reduced. CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) refers to a system that reduces a conventional computer's noise (30dB or more) to an inaudible level (20dB or less). In order to create a true noise-free computer, Zalman's other noise-free products should be used together with this product.

    5Great power supply  Jun 11, 2006
I don't know what A. Marcotte expects from a product, but this is definitely the most quiet power supply I have ever owned. I didn't even realize how loud my old one was until I got this one. I can barely hear my computer running now.

I read good reviews on this power supply on other websites. That's why I went with this one. I am glad I did. I have only had it for a couple weeks, but it has been very stable so far. I have a ton of stuff in my computer. Not just any old power supply would be able to power it. This one does it effortlessly.

I also like the little extras. It comes with a couple of extra connectors and a few velcro straps to help organize the wires. Also, the connectors are molded to provide better grip for plugging/unplugging them. It's little touches like these that send a product to the top. This power supply is hard to get (sold out on most websites). But Amazon came through for me. Got it in 2 days! Viva la Amazon!

    2noiseless... I think not!  May 18, 2006
I purchased this power supply to replace my thermaltake TR 2-430W "silent power supply" which was far from silent but then I only paid about $30 for that one. So, after a lot of researching I decided to buy this Zalman power supply because I read a lot of good reviews at different places on the Internet. I have to honestly say it is almost as noisy (like a swarm of bees) as the one it replaced...the thermaltake TR 2-430W. So, don't get sucked into the "noiseless" propaganda that this product claims to be. On the other hand if you have a totally soundproof case then go for it...but if you're like me who likes to keep his tower on his desk... it can be very noisy when the fan kicks in. I just expected a little bit less noise for the price I paid for this unit which is going back to Amazon.

5Fos use in an HTPC  Mar 18, 2006
Silent. Lots of power for an SLI setup. What more can you say or want.
